When purchasing a meat grinder you will probably want to purchase several extrusion plates which have different sized hole diameters. The size of the plate’s holes results in the ground meat being either fine, medium or coarse. Meat grinder manufacturers have different sized plates but here is a general classification of the typical sized plate holes and the type of grind that those plates result in.
