Don't buy this product. You cannot get spare parts for it as I found when I lost the grinder blade.

The rival grinder is an OK product. I had an old rival grain and food grinder that was superb ! the inner worm was shorter and it really did a fantastic job , this grinder does not push the food out properly , at the end there is still more than half a cup of unground stuck all around the inside and the worm even if I grind some bread to try and clear it, I have only used the grinder on cooked meat.

You get what you pay for. The grinder is mediocre at best. I used it for grinding chicken breasts and wasn't thrilled. Haven't tried it on pasta.

The grinder is made up of cheap parts. It isn't even close to GI Joe proof. I managed to break it on the 2nd use. I spent an extra $20 on a better quality grinder and have been happy since.

The product comes with decent instructions and is easy to assemble.

If you are willing to be gentle when using the grinder, this grinde

This product is a good example of "what you pay is what you get". It`s made of some cheap plastic that bends all over while in use. It took us almost 2 hours for 8 lbs of pork meat. And probably the same amount of work as with a manual grinder.
I think the main problems are:
1. The motor is not powerful enough to do the job and probably of very poor quality
2. The cutting plate is very small (probably because the motor cannot handle a bigger one) so overall the grinder is very slow.

Pro: does grind, although pretty slow.

Con:
-when it arrived, the plates smelled of machine oil, so I washed and dried it before use. Discoloration appeared on cutting plates after 1 use. Rust started to appear on the large plate even though I wash and dry it right after using. Rust also appear on the metal part of the plastic worm.
-Everything is plastic except blade and cutting plate and spring.
-meat tends to get into the spring.

Its a good machine for the p

I had bought a Waring Pro from Beds Bath and Beyond but somehow it just got stuck while grinding Beef had to be returned. This Rival 2275 is plastic but solid built, all the parts snap in snugly and it just works. I would recommend this for home use definitely.

This is a pretty good little meat grinder, I've used it several times over the course of owning it and the only problem I have had is that when you grind up meat with fat and stuff in there, it has a tendency to wrap around the feed grinder inside of it, I had to keep taking it apart to take the fat and stuff out of it, but I don't know if it was me or the machine. I've used it for beef and deer mainly and it does grind up the meat really well, though some you have to cut up really small to put in there, depends on the fat and stuff in there. It has 2 different grinding disk sizes and a sausage maker to go with it, though I have not used the sausage maker to it. The disk will rust a little if you don't dry them out before you pack it away, but I found that putting them in a plastic baggie after they've dried works pretty good in keep the rust down on them. Over all, it's a good little grinder, it impressed me.

I bought this for my boyfriend because he wanted to start making homemade sausages. It is a great little machine for the price! It definitely takes a bit of time to use, but the results were well worth it!

The first time I used this unit the Ring Collar split in half. Obviously the plastic part was defective. In contacting Rival this unit is still for sale on their site but the Customer Support says the part I was willing to purchase is no longer available. What a joke. I now have a usless piece of junk because the company can't supply replacement parts.

It will take some time to trust the Rival 2275-WN Electric Food Grinder. It growls and groans and wobbles and whines and squeaks and strains as it grinds the meat to perfection!

The grinder is only 200 watts, so I'm not going to overload it. It likes totally defrosted meat, rather than slightly frozen. With meat cut to 3/4" x 3/4" x 2", the machine seems most happy, making the least amount of racket.

I ground some chuck steak first using the fine attachment, which was a mistake because it quickly became clogged, so I switched to the coarse attachment and it was best. I will save the fine attachment for a second pass if I need the meat ground really fine.

The coarse grind came through looking marbled, so I made a small burger and the texture was very pleasant, without that McD's dry sandpaper feel. A second coarse pass certainly came out as a more uniform mixture, but the slightly rough and bumpy texture was thankfully still there.

Tendons and ligaments collected around the spring and cutter, so that needs watching. It looks like the inner ring of holes stop producing when the trash wraps around the spring. Grinding four pounds of lamb without cleaning caused no problem, but the 2.5lbs. of chuck required a cleaning halfway through.

The casing did not warm up much to the touch, but the shaft was quite hot, meaning the motor must be hot too, though too hot, I don't know...

This unit replaced and older Rival meat grinder that had expired. I make my own hamburger. This unit cuts much better. I do not have to clean out the unit during an 8 pound run, whereas I had to clean out the older unit 2 or 3 times during a similar run. I would recommend this unit for normal household use, grinding 5 to 10 pounds of hamburger per week.

Bought as a gift for someone who likes to grind their own fresh sausage. She says it is a good size for her apartment and not overly noisy. Do chill the meat before grinding.

THIS GRINDER DOES A ACCEPTONAL JOB ON GRINDING DEER MEAT WHICH IS VERY GRISSELY. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH HOW EASY IT WAS TO USE AND HOW WELL IT WORKED WHEN WE USED IT TO MAKE SAUSAGE WITH THE STUFFING ATTACHMENT.

We have used our meat grinder twice since purchasing it. We ground 4 lbs of chuck roast each time with no problems. Easy assembly and cleaning.

I paid for another meat grinder a few years back that, bit the dust, first it cost more, then the Rival, it made more noise, it weighed more. So far I have had only the best experience with the Rival Food Grinder, it's light compared to other electric grinders I have owned, costs less, and is extremely easy to assemble and disassemble. So far it's the best one I have owned for the cost.

This is what I've learned from experience in trials and error. You should cut the meat in chunks smaller than the tube and you should partially freeze it otherwise it will clog from all the stringy stuffs in the meat. It depends on your freezer and the temperature of the meat after cutting but I think between 20 and 40 minutes should be adequate. Experiment with the time a little. If it's not frozen enough, it will clog prematurely and if it's too frozen, you will damage your grinder. I have it down to a science and I can grind 20lbs cut up rump roast or chuck roast in about 15 minutes without it clogging.

I bought this product from Amazon. After the first use, the metal parts started to rust. Return the product as a result.

LOVE the food grinder--bought a rump roast on sale and had ground round for a fraction of the usual cost.
